THE GOSPEL

"The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." Romans 1:16;

What is the Gospel?

[a] The Bible teaches us that every person born into this world [except for Jesus] has sinned and fallen short of God's standard Romans 3:23. This means that now and for all eternity, we deserve to be separated from God in a place called hell, which was prepared for the devil and his angels. Matthew 25:41;

[b] But God offers us eternal life as a free gift to spend with Him now and for evermore.

[c] This free gift is offered to us on the condition that we are prepared to:-

[1] Repent, that is to turn away from our sin.

[2] Be truly sorry to God for all the sins we have committed.

[3] To accept Jesus as our Saviour, as He paid the punishment for our sins.

[4] When we receive the Holy Spirit, that confirms that we have become a Christian.

[5] After we have become a Christian, then we have to be prepared to deny ourselves take up     the cross daily and follow Him. Luke 9:23;

Romans 6:23; Acts of the Apostles 2:38;39; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 1:13;14;

1 Peter 2:21-25
