The Bible teaches us that we are saved by faith, which is a gift given to us by God; not based upon works but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is God who chose us, and not us that chose Him. Now as a Christian, God has given to us the grace and ability to seek Him. He wants us to want Him. Not to be saved, because we are already saved. He wants us to want Him so that He can be first in every area of life. When we find Him He will do the work of changing us so that He will become  first.
